Dr. Andrew Tait is a biochemist, innovator and entrepreneur. Andrew earned his degrees in Biochemistry (B.Sc.) and Chemistry (M.Sc.) from Concordia University, and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of British Columbia, and currently serves as an Affiliate Professor at Concordia University, Andrew's professional career has always centered on scientific discovery and sustainable practices. He founded Tait Laboratories Inc. in 2011 to transform overlooked food waste materials into innovative, high-value natural health products. Dr. Tait has deep experience in scaleup of chemical extraction processes, specialty product isolation and characterization, and designing pre-clinical research studies. Through his company Tait Labs, Andrew has successfully commercialized active polyphenol extracts derived from citrus peel waste into high-purity, effective natural health supplements (Mandarin Skin Plus), which is sold in stores across Canada to support gastrointestinal health and wellness. His commercialization experience enabled him to gain significant expertise in regulatory assessments for Natural Health Products (NHPs) with Health Canada and US-FDA. Andrew leverages that expertise in his consulting services with Optimal Innovation Group, to support companies with assessing their regulatory strategy, preparing their regulatory filings, evaluating their cGMP manufacturing compliance, and submitting their Quality Assurance dossier.
